Holiday Danz Camp – June 2016

I accompanied Leia to her last Kids Hip Hop dance before the finale performance on Sunday.

Leia seemed to enjoy herself & looks like she is  the tallest.

Waiting to rehearse in the studio

We were not supposed to watch, meant as a surprise but … Like other parents I was eager to video her dance.

considering if I should sign her up for ballet

And on the Performance Day…

Leia is able to remember the choreography pretty well.

Love you Leia.

Massage is good…

From time to time, confinement auntie will drop useful knowledge on baby care. With her years of experience, she has “troubleshoot” lots of situations. Auntie says its normal for babies to hippcups and she told me either we can burp baby or massage him.

This evening she taught me baby massage.

Auntie told me Kryston loves being massaged. Not all babies like to be massaged. It’s in the genes!

During my pregnancy, Bret gently massaged my legs every night with lavender oil. And towards last trimester, I engaged pre natal massage to ease my backache as well as help in blood circulation.

At night, I will rub thieves & lemon oil onto Leia soles and calfs to boost her immune system & help her relax. Sometimes I will massage Bret’s shoulders to relieve his stiff shoulders and work stress.

Bottom line, we love massage 🙂

Blessed Month – June 2016

In 2 days time, it will be Kryston’s full month party. Times flies … Soon confinement auntie will be leaving. Our family will miss her wonderful cooking & her cute dialogue with Kryston. Bret likes her cooking. After two weeks with us, I can conclude she is a Baby Whisperer and she truly loves babies. This pregnancy I only turn to Google for breast feeding stuffs, there was no need to ask google about newborn related, we ask auntie. Beside making sure baby is growing well, she takes very good care of me and Leia too.

One afternoon, Kryston was sleeping and auntie was about to nap. Leia carried her little mattress, pillow & blanket into the room. Leia insisted she wants to sleep with auntie. Auntie was more than happy to know Leia likes her :))

This year Father’s Day, I ordered Hai Di Lao Steamboat Delivery . It was Auntie Ruilian first time trying Hai Di Lao. We were impressed by their delivery service. Auntie said in Cantonese “好厉害”. My parents, mil & auntie had a cheery time cooking and chatting.

After a hearty steamboat dinner, Bret and I were resting on bed. We could hear the “aunties” chatting in the living room. We felt blessed that both our parents have terrific relationship.

June happened to be confinement auntie birthday month and on her actual day, we bought a fruit cake to celebrate with her. I also treated auntie a massage session from my regular massuse as birthday gift.

Cozy celebration with mil & our great helper, Lisa.

Got to know my confinement lady through vbff. I can always count on her recommendation. When she says good, sure is good. Grateful to the ever-gorgeous & smart Caiyan.

This morning Bret and I had a newborn review appointment with Paediatric. As I forgot to inform auntie, I told her she need not cook my breakfast. She looked concerned that I didn’t eat breakfast at home. Then she went kitchen to cook. I thought she was cooking for herself until she surprised me with …

Auntie hurriedly served to the table : “可以吗?这是最快的” Leia in her red uniform ran to table and helped herself. The portion was perfect for three of us. I am truly touched by her kind and caring gesture.

Having Auntie Ruilian as our confinement lady, we get to enjoy a month of delicious, nutritious home cooked food and Kryston is growing very well too.

God’s grace.  Thankful.

In her arms

Since the arrival of Kryston, my girl no longer wakes Bret and me up in the morning. Instead she would look for little Brother in confinement lady’s room. I have seen her doing assessment book & playing on her own in the room while baby boy sleeps.

Many times, Leia asked to carry little Brother and I can feel Kryston likes his Sister a lot.

I let her feed little Brother.

His hair is growing fast and styled by confinement nanny.

Double Chin is out and growing well 🙂

My little ones

Kryston looks a little different everyday. At day 3, he had single eyelids…

And it was not long… his double eyelids were out.

On the whole, his features resembles Bret … except he has double eyelids now. We love his hair very much too.

Kryston likes his Sister to be around him … the moment she is near, he calms down and looks for her voice.

Leia says she misses her little Brother a lot everyday. Back from school, she would look for him. As a big Sister, she gets to feed her baby Brother.

The way they looked at each other was sweet.

In bed, our family of four embraced the pure happiness of children’s milestone & loving moment.

Currently, Kryston sleeps with our confinement nanny. On weekend, Leia spends her time in the nanny’s room playing, reading or even doing assessment book on her own while baby boy sleeps in the playpen.

I’m so looking forward to days ahead.

Baby Boy, Kryston Khoo

One evening, I experienced an unusually hard baby bump and was feeling uncomfortable & breathless as I walked. Did a check with my gynae and she suggested making a trip to hospital. Bret and I were expecting delivery in the weekend.

At the hospital, we waited 10hrs for baby arrival.

After our boy had his length & weight measured, the nurse encouraged me to breastfeed him. Bret & I had 30mins of private time with baby at the labour ward.

Here’s the first picture of my baby boy.

First thought… He looks like Bret and .. soon the whole world think alike. All along, friends have been telling us Leia looks like me. Now I realise it is a nice feeling to have child looking like hubby too. Mil was smiling so much to see “little Bretson”.

My parents & Leia arrived shortly. They have been waiting for this day.

Leia was really sweet and she asked  to carry her baby Brother.

The moment Bret and I had imagined on this special day.

Love you baby Kryston.
