Panasonic Breadmaker: Coffee Bread with Cranberry

After few loaves of plain bread, it’s time to play around with recipes. I followed the Panasonic Soft Bread Recipe, Menu 3.

Instead of water, I replaced with my in-law’s coffee.

I added Dried Cranberries too.

4 hrs 30mins, my coffee bread was ready!

The crust was softer than usual and looking gorgeous.

My mil bought Haagen Dazs ice cream to go along with our homemade bread. Coffee taste was not evident but mil said its tastier on its own. I think much credit to the dried cranberry.

Yummy yummy. We couldn’t ask for more.

Update at 37 weeks Pregnancy

Last Wednesday, baby Khoo weighs about 2.5kg. A week has passed, I guess he’s probably 2.8kg now. My gynae estimates he is likely 3kg at birth… so I’m going back to see her on 30th May.

Meanwhile, I’m cooping with restless nights of tossing and turning in bed as well as night pee whenever the pressure is on my bladder. Occasionally I may get mild leg cramps during sleep time. To help me relax, Bret gently massages my feet and calf every night before I sleep.

I have engaged prenatal housecall massage on a weekly basis to reduce swelling and muscle tension relieve. After the massage, I feel really good. It’s better than the massage I get when I’m not pregnant. Having a session at 4pm later… Something I really look forward to.

Appetite is small as there is limited room for my stomach as baby Khoo grows. After every meal, I get a bit of heartburn. Everyone who sees me goes “wow your stomach is so big now!”

Bret and Leia kisses my baby bump all the time talking to baby Khoo. Little girl likes to Whisper to my bump. I’m looking forward to see both Sister & Brother interact in person.

A Friend once told me, “I don’t feel like looking at the mirror when I’m pregnant.” That is so true…

Yet when I’m so heavily bloated & feeling ugly, Bret would look at me like I’m the most desirable person on earth. Mixed feelings. I can’t wait to do my hair after confinement.

Philips Noodle Maker : Marcaroni

Today I am at 37 weeks of pregnancy & baby is safe to arrive anytime. Bret and my parents are on standby. My dear hubby text several times a day to “check” on me. When the anxious Father is at work, mum comes over to my place preparing snacks and meals.

One afternoon, I introduced another kitchen toy of mine to my mum. Philips Noodle Maker (left). On the right was my favoured breadmaker, baking a loaf of bread.

Just flour, water and push of a button, the macaroni was ready in 5 minutes.

My mum was fascinated like a child playing play doh. She had fun….

And we all had healthy macaroni chicken soup for dinner.

Simple, healthy breakfast

Becoming a Mother, I try to make sure my family is eating well. The recently acquired kitchen toys have been helping me with a mission to prepare nutritious & preservatives free meals.

With breadmaker, breakfast is easy to prepare. I just put the ingredients in the breadmaker & as fast as 2 hours later, we have a loaf of homemade bread.

Accompanied with fresh orange juice using slow juicer. There are many wonders of using slow juicer compared to conventional juicer. Do Google about it!

A simple breakfast that’s satisfying.

The begining of my bread making journey. And I learnt preservatives free bread have to be kept in air tight container & consumed within two days. Moulds start appearing on the third day.

Commercial bread last much longer. Do check out the ingredients label for preservatives & chemicals.

Rose Veranda with my Mum

Last Friday I brought my mum to one of my Favourite high tea. And I knew she would like the place.

The variety of tea was wonderful. I had “Sweet Kiss”, a pink delicate fruity tea. My mum and I were in moment of girly indulgence like a tea party.

Chef Perry was very warm and he walks around ensuring the ladies were enjoying themselves. A true gentleman, he served my mum dim sum. She was very pleased 🙂

And Chef Perry personally made a bowl of laksa for me.

I love Creme brûlée & the macaroons were not too sweet, just right.

The surprise: I made a reservation indicating it was for my mum’s birthday, the elegant waitresses suddenly appeared with a chocolate cake & birthday song. We had a Polaroid shot for memory too.

Our first Mother & Daughter high tea. Mum took several pictures of the place & desserts. She was over the moon and eager to share her experience with my siblings.

I do what I can to make people around me & my family happy.

Chloe’s 6th Birthday Party at Kidszania

A good Friend & colleague of mine hosted her daughter’s birthday party at Kidszania. Driving to Sentosa brings this vacation feel.

Quite a walk from Beach Station carpark but we made it.

A selfie with my drama girl. She can’t wait to have fun.

After buffet lunch, Leia activated her bank card at May Bank.

We reached kidszania at 1pm for buffet lunch & party

All 43 kids received their goodie bags with joy. Leia has a buddy, Eva. Initially both girls of them were shy but after warming up, they just gel.

Leia & Eva started her jobs at 3pm and she chose fireman occupation to begin with. The children were briefed on fire safety, exercise

And time for some water hose action.

Then Leia joined Qatar Airway as a cabin crew. Pilot is a popular choice but parents will not be able to participate as the role of passenger.

Leia did announcement & served us food on the “plane”.

Next, Leia became a kitchen crew at KFC where she learnt to make chicken fillet burger.

Parents will like this because it’s open concept and we get to sit down and watch. Also the chicken fillet burger was delicious.

At 6pm, Eva and her family had to leave for Mother’s Day dinner. The girls were reluctant to be apart. As parents, it was heartwarming to see how girls bond and cherish friendships.

Last job at Kidzani, museum curator. Leia gets to dress up as little Nyonya and discover penarakan culture.

20 mins later, Leia earned cash again. Last stop was withdraw cash from her atm card. The cash can be used for future visits & Bret says we can return to Kidszania. Glad to hear that!

It’s been a fruitful family time for us.

Note: If possible, have your child to visit Kidszania with a buddy as the queuing time for popular occupations can be 20mins or more and the kids will be on their own at waiting area.

Friday Sleepover

Last night, Leia joined mil at big aunt place for sleepover. My little girl was looking forward to meet her favourite Cousin, Jesslyn. During dinner time at home, she was in high spirit enjoying tori q bento.

I saw drama expressions as she took a sip of water.

Leia revealed several quirky facial expressions.

The moment Bret returned home, she asked “Are you going to fetch us to grand big aunt house now?” She wished. Bret rested a while before fetching her to big aunt place.

My happy girl on Friday night.
