Home made Muah Chee

Had my first ever home-made Muah Chee (Glutinous Rice Balls coated with Peanut Sugar) prepared by my mother’s former helper, Loren. She told me the recipe is very easy and I was inspired to try out. Indeed, there wasn’t much steps and I followed the youtube recipe here.

All you need is Glutinous Rice, Water, Grounded Peanut and Sugar.

Served this on Monday after a home cooked dinner.

Bret thought I bought the ready made Glutinous Rice Balls. I take that as a compliment but seriously, this is has to be the easiest chinese snack recipe.

Massage & Hair

My mother loves hair salon that gives great relaxing massage during hair wash. She found one near Best Friend B house. My mother requsted massage and the ladyboss went on and on…. longer than usuals. Both my hands and entire back was massaged too. She was really generous with massage time and I felt very thankful. After my hair was done, I was shocked to know that it is only $13.

My parents picked up Leia from school. She needed to trim her hair. Now, she is willing to sit on her own and have her hair cut.

Still a bit impatient. The hair stylist as well as ladyboss was careful and fast. Trimmings of ends and fringe for S$6.

Watching my own daughter seated on her own for hair cut reminded me of how my mum used to take me to neighbourhood hair salon for hair cut. This time, three generations in the hair salon 🙂

Before my dream vacation…

One of the freakiest thing about Bret is that he doesn’t like to travel. I can totally imagine when he told me he tried to talkcomplain to his colleagues about our coming Santorini trip and how he was taken aback by their response like “Wow! Santorini !” For me, I am fine without travelling too although … I would like to experience difference cultures and interesting encounters. This year, I have skipped a few opportunities to travel with colleagues and I am not missing this one.

The thing about Santorini, I only decided last month. After I booked the tickets and accomodation, I was too excited to sleep. Enormous anxiety when one is so near to fulfil a dream vacation.

We are officially a weekend away from Greece, a place I have to visit before I leave this world. Its not Paris, not Maldives but the iconic blue and white Santorini. Situatied in the southern Aegean Sea, I am intrigued by its history, awesome volcanic landscape, cosmopolitan atmosphere, breathtaking sunsets and deep blue sea..

After Santorini, Bret will return on his own while I fly with my colleagues to Turkey. This weekend, I need to get an arabian costume for company dinner and dance held in Turkey. Coming from a couple who travelled a lot, they told me Turkey is one of the most beautiful place they have been. The way she described still leaves deep impression. I am sure this trip will be an eye-opener for me 🙂

Upcoming Celebrations

Tomorrow is Monday. Another working week before I travel to Greece and Turkey. By the time I returned from my trip, there will be a string of several joyous events lining up and all of them involves my three best friends and little girl. E’s birthday followed by B’s baby boy arrival and Caiyan coming back to sg!

Leia’s turning 4 years old next month. I will need to get her cakes ordered once I am back. For her school celebration, I managed to persuade her to change the requested character from Paw Patrol to Mickey Mouse. Party Favors.. something to think about. As for family celebration, I have shortlisted a Frozen Cake.

Countdown to celebrations in September.

Hello Toyko Cat – Kate Spade

Came across this amazingly cute clutch this evening from Kate Spade. I know this is too cute for me but I actually found a reason for the perfect occassion, Chinese New Year… Yeah, I know still months away and … totally off my style. Kate-Spade-Hello-Tokyo-Cat-Bag

A question I have to ask myself, “Will I bring this out just once?”

When I seek his opinion, he asked if the clutch meant for Leia. Hmmm
