Dinner at Table Manners

My friend suggested Table Manners and I agreed. He told me the food is good although I remembered it was satisfactory in my previous visit.

Arrived at the restaurant, I noticed the after-work crowd like this place. This time, I had cappuccino mushroom soup and it does looks like a cup of cappuccino.

Very delightful mushroom soup. It is light yet flavoursome with bits of mushrooms. Then, my fish and chips was served. Looks inviting and every bite seemed like mouth party.

The crispy beer batter accompanied with fresh white meat was perfect. With the fries, salad and pretty generous portion of fish, I didn’t get to finish the plate all by myself..although I very much want to.

Oh ya, we ordered Stella Artois Beer at $4.80 to go along with our main course. Yums.

Interest

Yesterday, a friend of mine asked me if I have any interest or hobby. I was clueless about how to answer. Maybe its really an old-fashioned question coming from a casual conversation.

If it is an interview question, surely I can come up with interest like singing, reading, swimming and hanging out with friends.

Back to my friend, he was stunned like …why would I not have a hobby. And I thought to myself.. is it time to be obsessed with something? He suggested collecting watches or baking…? I shook my head.. The disturbing look on his face made me wondered if anything is wrong with my life. Within myself, I quickly summarised my current lifestyle.

What do I do now to make me happy?

The answer is, I engage in random activities that come into my mind. Its like telling myself, “Hey this is interesting and I am going to set time to do it.”

Primarily, the joy of my life now is having to spend loving moment with family watching our little girl grow each day. And then arranging hearty meals with my friends knowing our friendships were to built to last. Work wise, I am surrounded by opportunities allowing me to make a difference to others and at the same time, develop myself personally with enriching experiences.

In a nutshell, I have been working towards achieving my desired work-life balance. Time is shorter as a working parent who wants active social life as well.

Otherwise when I am alone, I pretty much look forward to blog.

So… what’s your hobby now?

Dim Sum at Crystal Jade Tampines Mall

Last weekend, we went Crystal Jade for brunch. It was his idea and I really wonder why he loves dim sum so much.

As expected, there was a crowd where families are queueing in front of the restaurant but we didn’t need to wait. We were ushered to the seats where I normally sit and he ordered the usual dim sum.

I wanted to try the mini custard buns that came in three colours: Salted Egg Custard Bun, Yam Custard Bun and Corn Bun.

Overall, not bad. I prefer the dim sum here compared to Tim Ho Wan at Bedok Mall.

I miss the Ginseng Chicken Soup at Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ, Takashimaya.

Childhood Aeroplane

Yesterday was a Good day and its Friday!

Leia was thrilled to receive a new mother garden toy from the recent parcel. In the evening, mil brought Leia to play with Cousin Esther’s son, Jaydan.

She returned home with a childhood toy.

Supposedly, we planned to bring Leia to Gold Coast, Australia this year. However, no concrete planning so far. Bret and I have been busy with work.

Nevertheless, Bret will be accompanying me to Istanbul, Turkey this year. It is an incentive trip and I owe the achievement to the relentless support of my clients and loved ones.

I cannot thank enough to friends who gave me the opportunities and encouragement to excel in my career.

Chikuwa Tei with Caiyan

Dearest vbff is back in Sg. We used to meet very often and so involved in each other’s daily life. Now she is residing in Perth with her husband till next year. I can only miss her and not meet her as and when I wished to. So when she returns, its wonderful to see her and update each other’s life.

This time, Beautiful Caiyan introduced me to  Chikuwa Tei.

“Chikuwa Tei was started by the famous food nazi Chef Peter Teo. He was also the former chef of the wildly popular Wasabi Tei at Far East Plaza. Unfortunately, he has left Chikuwa Tei last year and is now at Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restaurant.” – Miss Tam Chiak

Parked my car at UE Square and we took a 5min walk to the restaurant. I remembered those days when Double O, Madam Wong existed along mohamed sultan road. Now, the pubs were no longer thereso is my night life.

I do remember a constant queue at this Japanese restaurant located at Far East Plaza however I have not tried before. This is my first time and Caiyan ordered their trademark “Chirashi Don”.

Thick and Tasty-Looking Sashimi, Perfect for Sashimi Lover. I noticed almost every table order this set. Having slight sore throat, I wanted something soupy so I ordered Sukiyaki. However, the beef slices were cooked before served and so texture was kinda rubbery. Will not order this dish again.

After lunch, we decided to have heart-to-heart talk at my place.
